Officer Danyell Robinson of the Detroit Police Department has a passion for engaging youth in his community through sports. Enter Building Bridges Through Basketball, a 10-week program uniting local youth and police through basketball training and hands-on learning focused on leadership, conflict resolution, identity and diversity, designed to break barriers and strengthen the community. RISE partnered with the Detroit Pistons to bring the program to Detroit for the second time this past fall. Officer Robinson shares how it helped Pistons players, officers and youth build trust and create better understanding.
