Episode Synopsis

Cate covers ‘The Third Obstacle: The Attraction of Death’ from Chapter 19 (T-19, IV, C) during this Satsang. *Please note: Part 9 was hosted by a guest speaker and this video is not available.*Here is a summary of what Cate shares:As an ego, we identify as a body. We look around outside of ourselves and say ‘bodies die so I must die’. We are fearful of death, but Jesus says we’re attracted to it. There is a part of our mind that says ‘let’s just die and get out of here’. We see death as an escape from suffering. She asks us to let all of these thoughts arise in our awareness and look at them with Jesus/Holy Spirit. Say, “I’m fearing death, but I’m also at times really attracted to it because it feels like there is a way out”.Jesus also talks about death as depression, anxiety, sadness because we are the beautiful Love of God. When we identify with the ego thought system as a body and believe we can experience sadness, he calls it death.Spirit never dies. It is a changeless dwelling place. It is our true Identity and we want to step into this to recognize there is no death. It will change how we use the body. In the end, we start to use the body for God’s purpose. This is something we have to come to ourselves through going inward.Death is the opposite of Life. Life is happiness, peace and joy. Life is living in Him. God, being Love, is also happiness. The ego’s definition of death is when the heart stops beating. Jesus says death is when we’re not living in joy.We don’t have any of our own thoughts. We have ego thoughts or Holy Spirit thoughts. The ego thoughts are dead thoughts. It tells us we’re guilty. It will use anything to prove our guilt. It’s an excuse to hide from our true Self. We can decide right now we’re done with the past and allow the correction. As we let go of guilt, the peace and love comes in.Our job is not to correct our brother. Our job is to be the light. We cannot hold onto the experience of Divine Love and have a judgment against a brother. The veil will come down. We have to be vigilant against the ego.The ego thought system will always give solutions and then oppose them. Its aim is to confuse us. It always comes from guilt. We notice these thoughts and ask for correction. We empty ourselves out. We follow guidance on what to do. We ask Him first instead of engaging with the ego’s confusion.Cate then shares from her journey, “When I was doing my work with the Holy Spirit, I was looking for others somewhere to be the Christ Self that I could look up to. The thought came to me: Why don’t I do it the best I can? Why don’t I try to be that? If not me, who? If not now, when?”The meditation is at 49:40 where Cate leads the group through a beautiful joining with Jesus, asking him to show us how he sees us.Gratitude, love & blessings!xoxo
