In Matthew 27:37-44, we see Jesus Christ crucified between two thieves. These were men who chose to steal, knowing that crucifixion was the likely end. Why would anyone take that kind of risk? Were they that desperate, maybe fully hopeless? Maybe they thought there was no other way to survive or provide for their families. I don’t know. The cross wasn’t just pain; it was public shame. It was the worst kind of death in that time. Still, these men gambled with eternity. And today, people do exactly the same. They know there’s a heaven. They know there’s a hell. They know the consequences, yet still choose to live without Christ. Don’t take that risk. If you haven’t yet, turn to Jesus. Do it now. He’s still in the middle, still reaching out for the desperate, still offering mercy right now. It’s time to pray.
