Develop self-knowledge. Spend time reflecting on your attachment style, past hurts, and triggers. Understand where your fears come from so you can address them.Practice self-compassion. Treat yourself with kindness when you experience fears or doubts or even hurt.Start small. Begin by building casual connections and gradually work towards deeper relationships. This allows you to build trust and confidence at a pace you're comfortable with.Cultivate curiosity. When you feel fear creeping in, shift your mindset to one of curiosity. Ask questions to understand the other person's perspective rather than making assumptions.Be honest and vulnerable. Share your authentic self, including your flaws and insecurities, with trusted individuals. This can help build deeper connections and overcome the fear of rejection.Recognize not all relationships will be deep. Accept that you won't connect profoundly with everyone. Focus on finding common ground and enjoying the relationships that do develop naturally.Quotes from the Episode:"True connection doesn’t happen in perfection—it happens in vulnerability and authenticity.""To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known but not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty that life can throw at us." – Tim Keller Links & Resources:Try Softer - by Aundi Kolber Trust & Boundaries - both by Henry Cloud Spiritual Practices for the Brain - by Anne Kertz Kernion Follow Care to Change on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CaretoChange.org/Follow Care to Change on Instagram @care_to_changeSee our YouTube page hereIf you would like someone to come speak to your group about anxiety, depression or mental health, contact us for more details. If you are struggling and ready to take a step toward freedom, schedule an appt today.
