R. Renee Hess is the Founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Hockey Club. Hess discusses her first hockey game, the genesis of the Club, the transition to a non-profit organization and the impact of the Get Uncomfortable campaign. Hess shares her feelings on anti-racism efforts in hockey and fondly recounts her visit to Raleigh and PNC Arena in Feb. 2020.Black Girl Hockey Club was founded by R. Renee Hess in 2018 to create a community space for Black women in hockey.
