Listen "Jude 1"
Episode Synopsis
Take Aways: 1. As Jude charged the early Church to contend for the faith, so we as believers must be aware of our responsibility to strive for the faith—“Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” Philippians 1:27 2. Jude wrote to remind the Church that false prophets are condemned to judgment and therefore must take heed against being deceived into following after their false doctrines and sinful practices; we must be on guard against the same—“These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.” 2 Peter 2:173. While Jude exhorted the Church to identify false prophets, he also challenged believers to continue in the Lord by keeping themselves in the love of God with an objective of saving the lost and we are charged to do likewise—“Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.” 1 Timothy 4:16
