In the Wild West, Buster the Bus, sporting a cowboy hat and having found a lasso, takes on the role of a hero. He witnesses Bandit Bus robbing the sweet shop and attempts to take him to Sheriff Otis. However, Bandit Bus makes a quick escape, leading Buster on a chase out into the desert. Bandit tries to shake Buster off by crossing railroad tracks just ahead of Suki the train and then veering into a dangerous cactus field. The pursuit comes to an abrupt halt when Buster crashes into a cactus, puncturing his tire. Just as it seems Bandit will get away, Buster remembers his lasso. He skillfully throws it, capturing the fleeing thief. Unable to drive, Buster drags Bandit Bus back to town and delivers him to the jailhouse, much to Sheriff Otis's delight. Impressed by his bravery and quick thinking despite the setback, the Sheriff rewards Buster by making him an official sheriff's deputy, complete with his own shiny star. Buster proves himself a true cowboy hero.
