Episode Synopsis

Bump to Business Owner is BACK! Caroline opens Season 4 with a solo episode talking about burnout. We all experience it, especially as business owners and mums, and here Caroline unpacks her previous run in with extreme burnout, and how she was able to step back from the brink after a total stranger flagged that she might be in danger of burning out again. Caroline reflects on the signs of burnout she recognised in herself and her team, the importance of taking breaks, and the need to prioritise joy in life to prevent burnout.  A theme for this season is joy. Finding our own joy as mums can sometimes be a challenge, we focus so much on our kids and the people around us, so Caroline will be asking guests every week to share their sources of joy. Your homework for this week/season is to explore what brings you joy as a means of self-care and balance.   Takeaways Part of being a business owner and podcaster is testing and learning publicly  My toxic trait and how it can lead to burnout Burnout is a common issue among business owners and is probably the base state for a lot of mums out there Prioritising rest is essential for mental and physical health  How to recognise the signs of burnout to help prevent it Community support is vital for founders Finding joy in daily life is key to combat burnout - Caroline shares some of her joy sources Balancing work and personal life is crucial for your well-being  Setting realistic goals can help manage expectations   Chapters 00:00 Understanding Burnout: Caroline’s Journey 08:39 Recognising the Signs of Burnout 12:41 The Importance of Joy in Preventing Burnout   Links: Website: www.bumptobusinessowner.com  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bumptobusinessowner/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolinepooley/
