After a lot of careful business planning, bringing in a senior leadership team of 4, Siobhan went on her first ever maternity leave with her fourth and final child. The best laid plans often go awry, and how. Not only was Siobhan in a vulnerable position, coming back from mat leave and being ‘out’ of the business for a while, but then she found out her business was in trouble, it needed a restructure, and the team member she was putting all her trust in was not what she seemed. What happens where you’re a startup founder with a mission-led business that relies on your drive, and you want to step back? How can you make sure the business keeps its momentum?  We also raise an interesting question: when your mission led business has to a certain extent, fulfilled its mission, what do you do then?
