Listen "September 19, 2025 - Dutch Roads, Roundabouts, and a Touch of Home"
Episode Synopsis
📍 Location: Naaldwijk, Netherlands📝 Episode Notes:On Friday, September 19, 2025, I made my way from Ommen back to my hometown of Naaldwijk. Along the way, I had to stop in a small town north of Ommen to pick up some letters I wanted to display on the Land Cruiser, crafted by Erhart. He’s living a simple but wonderful life on his neat farm, taking care of animals and enjoying the day-to-day.Driving through the Netherlands gave me plenty to think about—traffic jams, roundabouts, narrow roads, and how relaxed the eastern side of the country feels compared to the west. Truck drivers here are absolute pros navigating all the bumps and turns! Finally, I arrived back in Naaldwijk. The Land Cruiser, which I picked up back in April in Kostrikum, is almost at 100,000 km and has a rich history, including serving the beach lifeguards. I’m grateful for the journey and the chance to share it with you.🔑 Key Moments:Pickup of custom letters from Erhart in a quaint northern town.Observations on Dutch roads, traffic, roundabouts, and narrow country lanes.Reflection on the benefits of living in the less crowded eastern Netherlands.Arrival in Naaldwijk and the Land Cruiser’s near milestone of 100,000 km.Invitation for listeners to send in questions via the website for future episodes.
