Episode Synopsis

📍 Location: Dakhla, Western Sahara🗓️ Date: October 9, 2025🎧 Episode Notes: I decided to stay another day in Dakhla — a simple, almost rugged place that drew me in with its quiet energy and fascinating rhythms of life. Today, I drove to the very tip of the peninsula where over 1,300 fishing boats rest on the sand, each one waiting to be dragged into the ocean by tractors. It’s an incredible sight — a mix of chaos and coordination that somehow works perfectly.I wasn’t allowed to film much because of police presence, but even from a distance, the life here spoke volumes. Everything runs on minimal resources — a few water tanks, sand roads half-paved, and homes in varying states of repair. Yet, the community moves with purpose.Later, I stumbled into a guarded restaurant that surprisingly had a full bar — the first alcohol I’d seen since entering Western Sahara. I didn’t stay for a drink, just curiosity led me there. Language barriers made for a few awkward but memorable exchanges; without Arabic and with only bits of French, every simple task felt like an adventure. The day ended as it began — quietly. Coffee, tea, and watching people go about their lives. It was a simple day, but one I’ll remember as my last full day in Western Sahara.🕰️ Key Moments:00:00 – Deciding to stay an extra night in Dakhla02:10 – Visiting the fishing area with 1,385 boats05:15 – Watching tractors haul boats to and from the sea07:40 – Noticing the simplicity and resilience of daily life10:25 – The surprise of finding a hidden bar12:15 – Struggling with language barriers and small exchanges14:30 – Ending the day with coffee, tea, and reflection on Western Sahara
