Tim Davies takes a look at the first three chapters of Genesis to conclude that we were made to be fruitful and to have fruitful relationships. Adam and Eve were deceived to believe that what God had given to them was not enough and that they needed more. They failed to realise that the fruit should be given and not be taken. Receiving the fruit that God has given to us leads to freedom and intimacy; however, if we take fruit that is not rightfully ours, our selfishness leads to shame and nakedness. If we want to be fruitful, we need to keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5) and develop that relationship above all others.
