Listen "The Room Where It Happens [Ep. 148]"
Episode Synopsis
A simple way to get more opportunities 👀
I was in the room when it happened…
For the first time in two years, I was able to attend the Congressional Black Caucus in person.
It was an incredible event, but I didn’t just go to listen and take notes…
I went there as an active participant, fully engaged with the attendees (some of whom I knew and some I didn’t) who were in the room 💪🏾
And these are the opportunities that happened because of this ⬇️
✅ Invited to watch the Senior Vice President of Global Supply Diversity for Hyatt speak about diversity, inclusion, and equity for companies and corporations
✅ Attended a morning brunch with Melanie Campbell from the Black Women’s Roundtable
✅ Exchanged phone numbers with an executive from Goldman Sachs
✅ Received an exclusive invitation to a Gala that originally cost $2,000
And so much more.
Being in the room and doing nothing gets you nowhere.
Make yourself available, have those introductory conversations, and change your future.
On the podcast, I share:
💥 How I made essential connections through this ONE event and opened up so many doors
💥 How you can become a resource for others when you’re in the room when it happens
💥 My challenge for you
If you’re ready to be in the room where transformations happen, then it’s time to move outside of your comfort zone and 👏🏾 get 👏🏾 things 👏🏾 done.
