In this episode of Bookablel Space, host Yvonne Battle-Felton is joined by Maximilian Hawker reading from About the Author Maximilian Hawker is a children's social worker who lives in Croydon, South London, with his wife and two daughters. He is author of the novels Breaking the Foals and Rory Hobble and the Voyage to Haligogen (both published by Unbound). Since childhood, he has suffered with severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and does media advocacy on behalf of the charity OCD Action as and when he can. About the Book When mysterious lights appear in the night sky and his mother is abducted, RORY HOBBLE is thrown into an adventure of galactic proportions. With his firecracker social worker driving him on, he must outwit a secret human civilisation living on a Martian moon, survive the threat of otherworldly creatures and learn to speak to alien whales. But if Rory is to ever see his mother again, he will have to summon all his courage to overcome the terrifying intrusive thoughts that set him apart as different from other children.
