Wen Qing and Wen Ning offer to turn themselves in and take responsibility for the deaths at qiongqi path. Wei Wuxian protests, but Wen Qing uses a needle to immobilize his body for the next three days. When Wei Wuxian can move again he goes to the jin sect to find their bodies, but instead he finds out that Wen Ning went berserk and killed 30 lan disciples before being put down and burned. As a result, the major clans plan to meet at nightless city for a pledge ceremony, where they vow to kill the rest of the wen clan along with Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian realizes that the entire world is against him and goes to nightless city for revenge. But in the middle of the battle, JiangYanLi appears and pushes him out of the way from a sword, and ends up stabbed in the throat.
