Sin hurts God. Ephesians 4:30 says that we can grieve the Holy Spirit within us. When we become born again, we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. We have God living on the inside of us. He sees everything we do -- every sin we commit -- and it hurts Him when we continue to live in our sin. As Christians who love the Lord, we should not want to hurt Him. This is why we should be doing our best here on this earth to live not according to the flesh, but to the Spirit, IF, as Romans 8:9 says, the Spirit of God is in you. Stay connected to God and His Word -- don't let it out of your sight.
