The ship Paul was on was wrecked on the island of Malta. Paul was welcomed by the people. He was bitten by a viper while placing sticks on a fire, but he was not harmed. Many people were healed through Paul. He was eventually taken to Rome where he requested to speak with the Jewish leaders. He shared the good news concerning Jesus and the fulfillment of prophesies about the messiah. Some believed, but others did not. Paul reminded the leaders that Isaiah prophesied concerning their disbelief. He stated that the Gentiles would hear and believe. He remained there for two years preaching and teaching the message of Christ.
