This however is not what came to mind in the early churches. Advent came with the promise of Jesus to return to the earth after his ascension to the Father. The New Testament writings refer to Christ return, his advent or second coming hundreds of times!The word advent refers to the arrival of a notable person or event often with eager expectation. This is mindset of the early Christians. Christ came the first time in fulfillment of prophetic promises but his Messiah work embraces both a first and second coming. He is coming again to resurrect the dead and establish the new earth where he will live with his people.  Are you looking for his return with eager expectation?
