What’s up Being Eve Squad!
This week’s guest of the week is Staci Diffendaffer -an author of Unconditioned Love: Healing Hearts and Minds in a Time of Conflict and Division.
After many years of abuse, she developed a false belief that most men were a threat.
God's transformational healing enabled her to forgive her assailants and stop categorizing people into "good" or "bad" based on past hurts.
At just 24, she started her insurance agency and was diagnosed with a chronic illness - Fibromyalgia (Amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain and spinal cord process painful and non-painful signals) and could not work!
Things got worse right after their marriage as she became bedridden and couldn’t take care of herself.
She became severely depressed and had severe anxiety and at this point her marriage was falling apart!
In this Part I of this series she shares how:
Categorization destroys us and our relationships because not everybody is bad!
Trauma makes us develop a hurtful mindset as we’re always trying to protect ourselves.
This happens because we haven’t healed like we’re supposed to!
In order to have real transformation, we have to understand that we can't continue to numb the pain or run from it.
Society sometimes becomes judgemental towards our trauma stories and this is because…
When you haven't experienced something yourself, it’s very hard to put yourself in the position of that other person.
Often are the times we don’t believe the other person.
This is where HUMILITY comes in because sometimes they don’t have the answers/we all haven’t experienced the same thing and finally, God created us for connections and fellowships!
God has given each of us, a part of the answers and part of the experiences so that we can come together, share experiences, and be able to communicate.
A challenge for you as a Christian…
If you are a believer, start looking at your story and you’ll begin to see the miracles that God has done in your life!
