Today we’re sitting down with Tyler Rost, Duke University’s Director of Player Development. Tyler brings a great deal of experience to the table and is a great listen. Topics include:The full on-boarding process for freshmanMerging data with “real” feelCreating a great “team” environment both on and off the fieldTyler joined the Duke Baseball coaching staff as the Director of Player Development in February of 2021. In his role, he oversees all technology, analytics and data collection and implementation for individual player development. In addition, he coordinates efforts with sports performance coaches, team nutritionists and the athletic training staff.Prior to Duke, Tyler was Assistant Coach at North Carolina Central in 2020-2021, after serving as a coach at Winston Sale State (2018-2020), Wake Tech CC and Greenville. Tyler was a four-year starter at Cedarville University from 2008 through 2011 and played two seasons of professional baseball as an outfielder for the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League.
