"A circular economy represents the idea that in order to support the growing population of humans, as well as maintain some sort of natural integrity on earth, we need to completely remake the global economy in a number of ways. This could be wasting less and keeping products and materials in circulation longer or regenerating natural systems, and preferably all of the above. In general, it really comes down to  the idea that we need to be extracting less and throwing away less. Right now, we have a straight line of consumption: extract, consume and throw away. In an ideal world, we'd be cycling everything back into the system."
