Errol A. Merquita is from Los Amigos, Davao City.  He is a recipient of Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for the short story category in Cebuano and poetry category for children in Filipino. He received the University of the Philippines Chancellor’s Medal for Culture and Arts and the Most Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2016. He writes poetry in Filipino and Binisaya.  The poem “Ays” was published in Bisaya Magazine. Some of his poems can be found in KABISDAK.
