Listen "60. Why Your Mental Health Is More Important Than The Number On The Scale with Amber Boyd, Therapist - Part 1"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, part one of three, I sat down with Amber Boyd, a license therapist who had bariatric surgery, to talk about preparing your mind before WLS and mental health after WLS.
Amber Boyd is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing since 2011, supporting clients who are battling issues of anxiety, depression, work/life balance, setting and maintaining boundaries, and identifying multigenerational layers of trauma. After having VSG bariatric surgery on June 17th, 2021, she shifted her work to also support bariatric patients as she noticed a disparity in support around mental, emotional, social, and environmental well-being. Amber created a journal/workbook: "Preparing For Your Bariatric Journey" (available on Amazon) and a 5-Week 1:1 Program to support pre-op bariatric patients with the biopsychosocial aspect of their well-being to prepare for surgery (also entitled Preparing For Your Bariatric Journey 1:1 Experience). Amber is also a podcast host (Moments of Authenticity) and it is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts!
