With a towering bread “wedding bake” serving as the final showstopper of season eight, who better to join us and give his thoughts?We break down the episode bit by bit, weighing in on our favourite moments and the strengths of each of the final three bakers, while discussing what it was like to bake in a tent with over 40°C heat. Amazing flavours, beautiful structures, and technical difficulties abound, culminating in the crowning of the latest winner of GCBS. The S4 and S5 alumni reminisce – and sometimes argue – about their time in the tent, giving all of us some laughs and nostalgia along the way.And in the end, all the bakers gave it everything they had, truly giving meaning to the phrase “go big or go home”…because when you’re all going home anyway, you might as well leave it all on the table.
