Listen "#70 - A Buyer’s Agent Journey across the Australian Real Estate market - Simon Thomas"

Episode Synopsis

Simon Thomas, founder of Coast Property Buyers, started as a livestock agent and auctioneer. But he had to learn to speak slower when he switched to auctioning properties.

From there, it didn’t take Simon long to become a real estate agent. He tells Buyer’s Agent Institute founder Ben Handler that he’s grateful that he started out working with a top sales agent, James Tostevin, who taught him a lot about the business.

But Simon didn’t stay put for long, and switched careers before property sales, landscaping and auctioneering.

When a friend was looking for a specific property and Simon saw Buyer’s Agent Institute Facebook ad, he then set out on the road to becoming a buyer’s agent.

Simon first started working for a buyer’s agency in Sydney, but after the work dried up during Covid-19, he decided to go it alone.

Two years later, Simon works with a team of people, including staff and experts that support his business, such as an auctioneer, town planner, valuer, property manager and conveyancer.

Simon’s big on training, learning from each other and being grateful, especially for referrals.

Simon’s keen to welcome more buyer’s agents to the business. He’d like buyer’s agents to cooperate with each other in an open and ethical space where everyone can be successful – and have an abundance mindset.

Buyer’s Agent Institute can give you the advice you need to become your own boss and build a successful buyer’s agency business. Go to www.buyersagentinstitute.com.au/enquire to start the journey.
