Episode Synopsis

This week we review the 1965 American musical drama film The Sound of Music produced and directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
The film is an adaptation of the 1959 stage musical composed by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
It is based on the 1949 memoir The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp and is set in Salzburg, Austria.
It is a fictional retelling of her experiences as governess to seven children, her eventual marriage with their father Captain Georg von Trapp, and their escape during the Anschluss in 1938.
The Hills are Alive as we welcome back author and playwright Elise Esther Hearst to the studio.
This is considered by many as one of the best films of all time.
What will the boys think of this one - we know the Aussie is going to love it, but what about the grumpy Scot? We know musicals, love stories and romance are not really his thing.
There is a lot of gushing over a young Christopher Plummer - smoking and striking are words unfamiliar to the Aussie but he does agree he is a handsome leading man.
We  have a healthy debate about the Captains fiancé was she a goody or a  baddy? What do you think?
Things start to get out of hand when the Scotsman tries to conduct a 3-way rendition of Do-Ray-Mi - no surprises when you hear that one of the 3 stuff's it up immediately.
Sit back and enjoy this fun conversation with the wonderful Elise Esther Hearst.
