The season of Lent calls us to a discipline that resists evil and whatever leads us away from loving God and neighbor. This season is a pilgrimage. A time where we seek God’s mercy above all else and reflect on the ways our lives and the world are scarred by sin, in need of God’s redeeming love. You are invited on a journey starting tonight, that includes self-examination and repentance, prayer and fasting, sacrificial giving and works of love. We do this trusting that we
are renewed and strengthened in faith through these disciplines, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
