Sermon Title: Belonging to the Truth. Preacher: Deacon Stephanie Anderson. Preaching Text: John 18:33-37. Today is Christ the King Sunday, the final day of the church year before we begin the Advent season. In our fraught political climate, today brings us good news: Christ is the one who reigns over all of creation and has ultimate authority in our lives. Today we're reminded that we worship a different kind of King; Christ's kingdom is one of grace, truth, and redemption, transcending earthly power and politics. They ways of the world are not where we place our allegiance. Instead, we are called to follow the ways of Jesus, while we wait in anticipation of the fulfillment of God's reign in the promised new creation. Today encourages us as the church to live in hope, trusting in the ultimate victory of God's justice and peace.
