Listen "Examining Pediatric Pressure Injury Risk Factors, with Dr Ann Marie Nie "
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of Words on Wounds, Dr Ann Marie Nie describes her retrospective study investigating full-thickness pressure injury (PI) risk factors among pediatric patients ranging in age from 21 week’s gestation to 21 years. Across all pediatric age groups, the vast majority of PIs (nearly 83%) were medical-device related. However, risk factors varied by age, indicating that providers should consider the patient’s age when implementing PI preventive measures.
