As the Founder and CEO of Soul-Friends, Kate advocates for animal-assisted therapy with children.  Resulting from her own experience with the healing power of a family dog during a severe illness, Kate pursued a course of study and then started the non-profit with a colleague.  She shares some of the science supporting the therapy and stresses that she strives to learn from every encounter with a child and family member.Chaptering done by Vinnie C. as partial fulfillment of  Mark T.
