Listen "Spring 2024"
Episode Synopsis
Out of the past- The guys spoke a little more about World War 2. US President proposed speed limit of 40mph across the nation in order to cut down on the use of rubber, oil, and gasoline. Though that doesn't seem very fast 40mph was a high rate of speed for a Model T or Model A Ford. Folks today would surely panic if such were even suggested.
Healthy Habits-The benefit of Dandelions. They are heart healthy and also good for the liver. Shilajit tastes horrible but really has a lot of benefits. It is good for vitality, the liver, has anti-cancer properties, and is also good to help regulate blood sugar. Whether it be a few chickens in the yard to provide eggs or raising a garden and canning, we suggest you do as much as you can for yourself to be a healthier human!
Sports- The Lady Owls of Owsley County to it all the way to Rupp Arena, however they were beat out of the tournament by Bowling Green in the first round. UK was defeated by Oakland in the NCAA tournament. Softball and Baseball season are fast approaching and we ask you to get out and support your home teams.
SPRING IS HERE! Though the weather is mighty iffy in early Spring, it gives us a few days here and there to get out and do things. Justin tells a story of taking a little trip to the Sagg Hollow Golf Course to play 9 holes one evening. As he reached the 9th he heard screaming from a pond down over an embankment. It was a good thing he was there, for he helped a taller, older gentleman up out of the water. Jason, Amy, and some of their crew took a walk in the woods on one of the nice warm days. Amy discovered some Turkey Tail Mushrooms, however they had dried out and were no longer usable. We encourage you to get out, get some Vitamin D (sunshine), learn something new, and take a break from being in the house.
The Winter Blues are hard to Shake but a little Sunshine is all it takes! We thank God for all things Appalachian!
Thank YOU for listening!
We thank our sponsors-The Jackson County Sun, WWAG Wagon Country, The Jackson County Extension Office, Spokeless Wheel Farm, Living Stone Outreach, John Caywood.
