Welcome to the Altbays Table Talk (Feat. Leo Magri) The Basket was set up to contribute to an environmentally and socially just Hauraki, through education, raising awareness, advocacy, and coordination, to meet the need for greater collaboration and partnership building between groups in our Thames and others across the Hauraki/Coromandel in the broad category of social and environmental justice. The Basket connects with environmental project groups and food security efforts, particularly supporting the Pātaka Kai free shop and distribution network led by Te Whāriki Manawāhine o Hauraki (women’s refuge), supporting local food growing and the Pātaka kai free community food pantry in front of Te Kura o Te Kauaeranga. The Basket offers an education programme around understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and their long-term goals are to support and connect initiatives that build community resilience in relation to inequality issues such as housing, climate change, food security and sovereignty, environmental restoration, biodiversity, waste reuse and community-based education on themes such as Te Tiriti o Waitangi.ALTBAYS Show invites awesome people to have an honest, laid-back conversation.
