Destinations in the mountains often face the challenge of revitalising communities all year round. For the sustainable development of a mountain region, it is important that the interests of tourism and the population converge - a complex issue. The Graubünden University of Applied Sciences is focussing on this topic. Lena Pescia, lecturer in tourism management at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure, is leading this project. She explains what the term community building means and what they have been able to find out so far in the pilot regions of Andermatt and Bergell.
