On this podcast, Shalini Kapoor hosts Francesca Rossi, IBM Fellow and AI Ethics Global Leader. She works at the T J Watson Research Labs in New York.  She researches on ethical issues in the development and behaviour of AI systems, in particular for decision support systems for group decision making. She has published over 200 scientific articles. She will be the President of worldwide association of AI in 2022-2024. Francesca was a tenured computer science professor at University of Padua (padova) in Italy and she took leave of absence to spend a year at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute where she explored the arts and humanities side of problems. This experience made her look at the ethical questions of AI and consider both humanistic and technological perspectives when designing AI systems.
