Today we chat with Alicia Burdess about teaching through tasks & big beautiful problems worth solving.  Alicia shares her math learning & education journey and all the learning  she engages in to continue to bring joy and instill confidence of solving big beautiful problems and teaching through them with both students & adults.  Having the goal that every child can learn math to the highest level and instilling that in students is a focus of Alicia's work.We chat about Alicia's book, The Dragon Curve, where we get a glimpse into the beauty of math and experience a big beautiful problem through a story that inspires the inner mathematician in all of us.  She reflects on this process and her passion of creating learning opportunities that engage both students & adults as problem solvers.Alicia has served as the President of the Math Council of the Alberta Teachers' Association and currently sit on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics' Publishing Committee.
