Listen "Predicting when Kentucky's economy reopens"
Episode Synopsis
So when can Kentucky's economy reopen? We talk about that on this week's Access Louisville podcast. Reporter Marty Finley, who covers government (among other things) for Business First, talks about the benchmarks that have been set and Gov. Andy Beshear's guiding philosophy on reopening. We already know that some health care facilities are going to reopen as soon as April 27. Statisticians from the University of Washington that have been monitoring the rate of new cases predict a June date relaxing of social distancing guidelines in Kentucky. As always we don't just talk about one topic on this week's show. At the top of the program we discuss pieces of media we've really dived into amid the quarantine. Finley recommends ESPN's new documentary "The Last Dance," while Brooke Timmons has mostly tuned into TikTok and Instagram. Digital Editor David Mann is on a "Gears 5" kick over on Xbox.In the last segment of the show, we talk about a recent cover story in which photographer Chris Fryer captured images of the city during quarantine. Be sure to check out those images either on our website or in the digital edition of Business First.
