Listen "NGO Leadership Podcast Summit: Barbara Campbell"
Episode Synopsis
The NGO Leadership Podcast Summit is a powerful series of podcast interviews with international leaders and nonprofit executives who tell their stories of how true transformation is impacting change in the US and around the globe.
In this episode Barbara Campbell and podcast host Annie Vander Werff discuss what happens when we say 'YES' to uncertain, unfamiliar, unplanned opportunities that help us grow. As leaders and followers of Christ, we can take risks, endure the suck, and make collaborative steps that lead to impacting change.
Barbara Campbell graduated from Pharmacy school at the University of Minnesota in 1993 and has worked in pharmacy operations and management for over 25 years. Over this time, she developed an interest in working with individuals to provide real, lasting changes to health and well- being that go beyond medications. This led her to continue her education, and in 2008, she completed her certification as a clinical nutritionist. In addition, her passion for applying practical business strategy to promote sustainability, and staff development have been at the core of every operation she has had the opportunity to lead. In 2010, motivated by her Christian faith, she found herself in Haiti right after the devastating earthquake that killed over 150,000 people. The experience was truly life-changing and within a few years she and her husband were both working in Haiti. After 6 years of working in Haiti overseeing medical operations, Barbara moved to Ohio and joined The Dalton Foundation as their Executive Director. Barbara has spent the past five years developing and implementing their strategic giving programs and developing partner relationships. In this role Barbara is leading projects and collaborations that: - Connect individuals struggling with substance use disorder to community resources - Support the population reentering society after incarceration - Seek to end human trafficking - Support and strengthen healthcare delivery systems in several countries including Haiti, which remains close to her heart
