Rio Hondo Prep is headed to their 22nd CIF Final in school history after their 31-14 victory at Vista Del Lago in Moreno Valley. The Kares played with poise and passion in their conquest of a 15th football banner to be raised in the Styver's Center on campus. Noah Penunuri led the team with over 170 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns. The stifling Rio defense bent but did not break all night long and intercepted the Ravens 3 times. Head Coach Mark Carson recaps the big night out in Riverside County and soaks up his first trip to the Finals since he has been Captain of the ship. Sophomore RB/DL Nathaniel Shine made a splash return to the field with a 30 yard touchdown run after not seeing the field for 7 weeks due to injury and joins us today for our player segment.

The CIF Finals are next Friday at 7:00pm on the road against Santa Monica High School. The location is yet to be determined. See you all there! Happy Thanksgiving!
