Listen "Laurel Colless: Inspiring the Next Generation of Environmentalists /Ep 4190"
Episode Synopsis
Australian-New Zealander, Laurel Colless, is a sustainability writer, kids' science fantasy novelist, and founder of the Carbon Busters Club, a climate-science adventure program for children. With over 25 years of experience working in environmental business across Asia, the US, and Europe, she combines her expertise with her passion for education and storytelling. As an Al Gore Climate Reality Leader, Laurel is also the author of the Peter Blue series, science fantasy adventure stories where eco-school friends solve big world problems and face off against extreme weather monsters. Her diverse career has allowed her to bring a unique voice to the intersection of sustainability, technology, and creative expression. Laurel believes the changes we make for a more sustainable life should not be punishments but should positively impact our own health and well-being, along with the planet. When Laurel is not writing or busting carbon, she likes reading, watching movies, forest walks with her dog (and sometimes her cat!), and spending time with her Finnish husband and their two teenage daughters. She likes golf, tennis, yoga, and swimming in the sea (not with her cat). Laurel now makes her home in Helsinki. Website
