Ostara is a modern Pagan and Wiccan holiday that celebrates the spring equinox, which usually falls around March 20th or 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the summer solstice.
One of the eight Sabbats observed in the Wheel of the Year, Ostara is celebrated by various modern Pagan and Wiccan communities around the world as a time of joy, hope, and renewal.
This year, the Spring Equinox falls on Tuesday, March 19th, a couple of days from now.
Ostara is named after the Germanic goddess Eostre or Ostara, who represents fertility, renewal, dawn, and spring. She was said to be associated with the dawn and the awakening of life in nature after the long winter months.
