Listen "Wattz Up! - Let Us Be Perfectly Queer"
Episode Synopsis
Wattz up! is produced by Yollocalli Arts Reach youth and broadcast through Lumpen Radio, WLPN 105.5FM Chicago.
We hope you’re doing lovely! This Saturday, our Wattz Up! crew dedicates this episode to you. So sit back, 'cause we're here to serve you all the flavors of the rainbow. We've interviewed Home Kitchens (@welcomehomekitchens), a mutual aid organization that feeds the queer community one tasty meal at a time. But that's not all – we also have a LIVE interview with Gage Park Latinx Council (@gplxc), a Queer, DACA, Latinx-led grassroots organization known for their art, education, and activism. Throughout, we'll delve into why these resources are vital while growing up queer and poor.
But our exploration doesn't stop at the kitchen! Tune in as we dissect queer representation in the media and discuss the modern concept of queer baiting. Craving some tunes? Turn up the radio because we have an audio piece dedicated to club classics just for you. Plus, we'll feature interviews from people all across the community answering the question: What would you tell your younger self?
Let's be perfectly queer: wherever you are in your journey, we hope you can find yourself in this episode.
