Listen "67: 7 Dos and Don'ts After Graduating Teacher Training"
Episode Synopsis
Join the waitlist for the Quietmind Yoga Teacher Training at http://www.quietmind.yoga/ytt
Today’s topic comes from my discussion with my mentee Cait Rumak in Staten Island. She is nearing the end of our time working together and asked what I recommend doing after she is finished. Today I’ll share what I did and what I’ve noticed that successful teachers do after finishing Yoga Teacher Training. I’ll also share what NOT to do!
DONT
teach yoga to everyone
lose the momentum
stop teaching
just go into more trainings without implementing anything
stop being a student
try to rush your process
be harsh on yourself
DO
Be a yogi, rather than teaching yoga
Keep the momentum going; volunteer, clean the floors, be in the community, create gatherings, etc
Start teaching at least once a week
keep implementing what you learn from each training
always have a next training, workshop, mentorship, retreat or course you’re doing and things on the horizon
Always think long term
Approach your own path as a student with as much kindness and care as you would teaching approach teaching your students
