Dr. Decoteau J. Irby is an education researcher and author who is a college professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. His forthcoming co-authored and co-edited book, Doing the Work of Equity Leadership for Justice and Systems Change, offers a new look at equity in public schools, specifically the daily work school leaders and teachers are taking on to serve all students while facing pushback against DEI initiatives and so-called "woke" education.

Dr. Irby joins the show to further discuss the context of his book, and to talk about the attack on DEI in America.
