On Today's 6th episode of F/Act Up we sat down with two Buffalo residents, Dr. Vincent Hunter Capps and Xanaan Salim to discuss the REAL State of Our City.  On May 1st, 2024 Mayor Byron Brown revealed his plan to raise Buffalo's property taxes by 9%. He then released a 400+ page document outlining his budgetary recommendations, leaving Buffalo residents just 2 weeks, one public hearing and a single online forum to voice their opinions and concerns. Now the Buffalo Common Council has a short window of opportunity to revise and pass the Mayor's budget. Real Buffalonians like Xanaan and Dr Capps have let City Hall know how they'd like their tax dollars spent, but will our elected leaders listen this time? We won't hold our breath.
