Listen "Expanding Context: Literacy, Politics, and Civil Rights"
Episode Synopsis
Titled “Expanding Context: Literacy, Politics, and Civil Rights,” this podcast surveys the origins and expansions of the Writing and Literacies Special Interest Group from the perspective of one of its former presidents, Dr. Stuart Greene, associate professor of English at the University of Notre Dame. We discuss the serendipitous influences of SIG members in his scholarship in the field of writing, his commitment to creating space for differing voices in his time as president and now, and the role he envisions for critical community research and literacies as a civil right as the field moves forward.
