Episode Synopsis "Generating Ideas"

This Writer's Workshop lesson is designed for 3rd grade students. It is one of the beginning stages of creating a personal narrative: generating ideas. This mini-lesson is focused on the idea of "First Times". Students will create their own list of "First Times" after listening to the podcast with the instructor describing some of his first times: First time he made the winning shot in a game and First time he felt frightened. This podcast can be used for students who need to hear the mini-lesson again for reinforcement or to send home to parents for children who need support with writing.
