WPKN, called by the New Yorker Magazine “The Greatest Radio Station in the World”, announces a special collaboration with seven-time Grammy Award musician Paul Winter and his Consort to celebrate our 60th Anniversary, recognizing the breadth of music, culture, and environmental awareness we present.
One of the earliest promoters of world music, the Paul Winter Consort pioneered a new genre of “earth music” --described as “ecological jazz” --interweaving classical, jazz, and world music elements with voices from what Paul Winter calls “the greatest symphony of the earth”.
