It’s October — the season of thinning veils, when the air itself feels electric. The days shorten, the nights deepen, and if you’re paying attention, there’s a certain shimmer in the ordinary. It’s also the time when witches show up everywhere — in costumes, in old movies, in the collective imagination.  Historically, witches were mostly women—who were healers, herbalists, midwives, and wisdom keepers in their communities.  They knew plants, weather, fertility cycles, and natural rhythms long before medicine was institutionalized. But as patriarchal religion and early modern state power grew (especially from the 1400s–1700s), those women were persecuted—often accused of “witchcraft” for embodying knowledge and authority outside church and male control. So the word witch became a weapon to destroy feminine power.  Join me in this conversation and how we witches are reclaiming that lost lineage.Support the showThanks for listening and feel free to follow us on different social media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube and on our website www.womenonthebrink.net.
