Listen "Lorenzo Fuller: From High Plains to Television Pioneer"
Episode Synopsis
Lorenzo Dow Fuller, Jr. was a pioneer in the early days of television, but his parents were Pioneers in their own right. His father was a traveling musician, taking his family on tours across the Midwest. He made quite a splash on Broadway, radio and the new medium of television. He soon had a spot as the host of his own network show, the first African American to do so. As the years went by, the "young man in a hurry" soon began to fade from the public eye, living anonymously in New York. He made a final trip to Stockton...but it should not have been his last.
