Listen "85. Breakdown to the Old Testament - July 28, 2022"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. We will go over Proverb 28. I will then key in on verse 6. This verse basically states that it is better to do the right thing rather than become rich (and doing the wrong thing. I will then go over a basic breakdown of the Old Testament. For those not all that familiar with the Bible, the OT consists of 39 books. An easy way to remember these books is to know these numbers: 5, 12, 5, 5, and 12 (easy to remember). The first 5 if the first five books of the Bible (all written by Moses). We just finished our study on the book of Genesis. The next four books are Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The first 12 are for what are called the historical books: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther. The next five are the books of Poetry: Job (the oldest book in the Bible; followed by Psalms (most which are written by Kind David; and the three books written by Kind Solomon - Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. The next 5 is for the major prophets (even though there are only four major prophets. Isaiah, Jeremiah (who also wrote the book of Lamentations); Ezekiel, and Daniel. The last 12 are for the minor prophets: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.
